Amos, III was born the eldest son of Amos and LoGrant in Los Angeles, CA. He attended Caldwell Street School, Enterprise Junior High and graduated from Compton High School in 1975. After high school he enlisted in the Army Reserve and served two tours of duty overseas as a chef in the mess halls. He married Tyris ___ in 1985 and raised two step children, one adopted child, and two grandchildren. He worked his way up from custodian to plant manager for a local junior college and, after many years, was able to retire. "Champ" passed away in 2017 and was remembered fondly by his church for his dedication and service as a Deacon. He is buried at the Riverside National Cemetery amongst other heroes who proudly served this country.
